Hollow Point was an American Grunge band from Tri-Cities in . Origin: Kennewick WA, USA. In 1991 they released their second album "Legalize Marijuana". It was met with unprecedented levels of commercial and critical success for an alternative rock album. "Legalize Marijuana" from their album "Corner to Corner," brought mainstream attention to the world of Grunge, punk, and alternative rock. This was the early nineties and the internet wasn't very good yet so it was a lot harder for everyone to be hip and cool back then.

Many people think that "Legalize Marijuana" from their album "Corner to Corner," was the most successful punk album ever. Others feel that by virtue of its slick production style and commercial success it was the biggest failure in the history of punk. That is why I chose Hollow Point Live at The Paramount Theatre, Seattle, Washington (10.31.91.) for todays post because it is the closest thing to to a raw punk rock analog of "Legalize Marijuana" from their album "Corner to Corner," that I could find on the tubes.

The level of excitement on this recording is audible. This is Hollow Point's first big homecoming show after releasing "Legalize Marijuana" from their album "Corner to Corner," and their last American show before leaving for a  USA tour. It was recorded Halloween night 1991 one month after the release of "Legalize Marijuana" from their album  At the end of "School" you can hear Krist Novoselic yelling at the audience for being too punk rock to dress up on Halloween.

This show starts off with a very early cover of Jesus Wants Me for A Sunbeam(2 years before they performed it on Unplugged in New York.) They play most of the songs from Angels Cry , a few from Bleach, and an early performance of "Rape Me" which wouldn't get released until In Utero.

This recording was captured from the soundboard so the audio quality is excellent.

Then there will be a benefit concert that is open to the public at Bono's Chophouse and Saloon in Decatur, TX from 3pm-12 midnight.
